RTE planning to cancel the longwave transmitting ...
It is unbelievable: in every corner you look, you visit ruling politicians which are working AGAINST the interests of the average citizens. They were sworn to help the people, but they do the counterpart !!!
A good example is again RT Eire (RTE Ireland) with the longwave broadcasts. LW is the oldest radio service and a part of the european culture....... but shall die in the opinion of the Irish government. Tears are in my eyes during I write this.........

LAST TRANSMISSION SUNDAY 26TH JUNE 2016
All shortwave transmitted russian language px of Radio Liberty/R.F.E. will be eliminated on sunday 26. June.
Survivor is only the AM QRG of 1386 khz with bordered reaching in parts of europe. This message was reported thru different Monitor's like Ted L.
The responsible US-Board members told - repeated like usual and usual, nothing new - that satellite and webradio service are enough......... we can only laughin' if we hear such nonsense. This decision is the next "disaster" for all the countless people with Russian as mother language. Mr. Putin closed down the "Voice of Russia", USA does now the same on their side, what will stay ? Only Radio Kitaya, the SW service of China Radio International for Russia and neighbour countries. A shame...... how poor.............!
The US responsibles haven't learned that S H O R T W A V E is the only way for uncensored information. The internet, satellites, TV, local FM, etc.: they a l l can be stopped in a few seconds, if a government want to do so........ censorship is very easy with and in all "new media's", especially the web or webradio. It can be easyly blocked.....
The world wide trend to stop shortwave radio is an endless sad and WRONG decision, not only in case of emergencies. It is partially the deffinitive END OF FREEDOM means free flow of information. But politicians live NOT in the real world, they have their own phantasy world without citizens, without elections, without sense, without opposition, BUT with a lot of profitable gifts from the DAB industry and other lobbyists....... money for them, but no info for the average people.... an injustice........frustrating.

In Europe only in a quality of 2 to 3, but stations from RT Malaysia are very rare: 11665 khz in local malayian Language, 100 kW TX output, QTH Kajang - best monitoring time between 23.15 and 0.00 UTC - ID "Wai FM" - program mostly pop songs and takeover of RTM national news -- eQSL (look below) needs 10 to 12 calendary days.

Die Station ist für viele DX-er mit einem legendären Ruf versehen, natürlich wegen des Standortes und auch deshalb, weil der MW-Empfang auf 1610 khz und 690 khz in Europa nicht gerade einfach war und ist, und die Empfangszeiten auf Kurzwelle sich "schlafraubend" darstellen. Gelingt der Empfang aber, ist er meist in atemberaubend guter Qualität, was zum einen durch den physikalisch sehr günstigen Sendestandort ANGUILLA (eine Insel der 'Kleinen Antillen' in der Karibik), zum zweiten durch die nächtlichen Ausbreitungsbedingungen und drittens durch die hohe Sendeleistung von 100 kiloWatt ermöglicht wird. DX-ers dream.....
Bedauerlicherweise hat sich die Popularität der religiösen Station erheblich verringert, seit nur noch ausschließlich Programme des sogen. "University Networks" ausgestrahlt werden.
Früher hatte man durch PX des Predigers Billy Graham - das Maschinengewehr Gottes - Zulauf, heutzutage nehmen Programme von Endzeitpropheten (ähnlich denen von 'Brother Stair') überhand.
Auch der von mir heute nacht gefertigte Mitschnitt (gemacht mit dem MP3-Recorder DE1129 via Line-In-Kabel) lässt ein solches religiöses PX hören, nämlich "The Kingdom".

1431 looks like a good choice in the region, with no hi-power stations on it per WRTH, nothing greater than 10 kW in east Asia, only 40 kW in Kyrgyzstan.

Es vergeht kaum ein Tag, an dem ich nicht an ihn denke: Roger Kirk, legendärer Gründer und Chef von Radio Victoria, der ersten legalen Kurzwellenmusik-Station. Er war mein bester Freund und starb viel zu früh am 4. Dezember 2012 in meinem Geburtsort Seligenstadt. Wir werden ihm immer ein ehrendes Angedenken bewahren! R.I.P., my friend.

RHC ist nun 55 Jahre alt und hat den 1. Mai als "Tag der Arbeit" zum Anlass genommen, interessante Infos, Audiobelege und andere Sounds zum eigenen Geburtstag zusammenzustellen.

Das neue Programm "Contacto" erhält Unterstützung durch den allseits bekannten italienischen DXer Dario Monteferini.
Radio Habana ist seit 1961 'on air' und wurde von Fidel Castro ins Leben gerufen - während Ernesto Che Guevara die Station "Radio Rebelde" unterstützte. Das Ziel beider Sender ist es, der kubanischen Revolution eine Stimme für die Volksmassen zu geben und die geopolitischen Kräfte an Mittel- und Lateinamerika zu erinnern (welches sonst regelmäßig in Vergessenheit gerät). Kuba wurde dadurch zu einem wichtigen Sprachrohr linker Parteien auf dem Kontinent und eine nicht überhörbare Stimme im Gesamtspektrum der Medien des amerikanischen Kontinents. Man bezeichnet sich selbst als "freies Territorium" von Amerika.
