The responsible US-Board members told - repeated like usual and usual, nothing new - that satellite and webradio service are enough......... we can only laughin' if we hear such nonsense. This decision is the next "disaster" for all the countless people with Russian as mother language. Mr. Putin closed down the "Voice of Russia", USA does now the same on their side, what will stay ? Only Radio Kitaya, the SW service of China Radio International for Russia and neighbour countries. A shame...... how poor.............!
The US responsibles haven't learned that S H O R T W A V E is the only way for uncensored information. The internet, satellites, TV, local FM, etc.: they a l l can be stopped in a few seconds, if a government want to do so........ censorship is very easy with and in all "new media's", especially the web or webradio. It can be easyly blocked.....
The world wide trend to stop shortwave radio is an endless sad and WRONG decision, not only in case of emergencies. It is partially the deffinitive END OF FREEDOM means free flow of information. But politicians live NOT in the real world, they have their own phantasy world without citizens, without elections, without sense, without opposition, BUT with a lot of profitable gifts from the DAB industry and other lobbyists....... money for them, but no info for the average people.... an injustice........frustrating.
